One week into shooting in Cleveland, finance issues have forced Benaroya Films to temporarily halt production on the action thriller starring Bruce Willis.

Sources said the hiatus comes as producer-financier Michael Benaroya and his associates scramble to reconfigure the budget.

International Film Trust was at the EFM earlier this month shopping rights to the story of a sociopath who must defend his clan after he returns home for a family funeral on a remote island. John Pogue is the director.

Benaroya produces with Tobin Armbrust, David Alpert and Chris Cowles. CAA represents US rights the film.

“Benaroya Pictures is working quickly to remedy the delay in production on the feature film Wake, and we are optimistic we will resume principal photography in approximately 2-3 weeks,” a spokesperson said.
