Christopher Woodrow and Molly Conners’ busy finance and production company has come on board to finance and produce David Gordon Green’s film starring Nicolas Cage.

WestEnd Films will introduce the project to buyers here and CAA packaged and arranged financing on the project and represents domestic rights.

Gary Hawkins adapted the screenplay from the novel of the same title by Larry Brown. Principal photography is scheduled to commence in early November in Texas on the story of an ex-con who becomes an unlikely role model to a teenager from a troubled home.

Lisa Muskat will produce Joe with Green and Worldview CEO Woodrow and Derrick Tseng. Worldview’s Conners, Maria Cestone, Sarah Johnson Redlich and Hoyt David Morgan will serve as executive producers alongside Brad Coolidge, Melissa Coolidge and Jody Hill and Danny McBride of Rough House.

Todd Labarowski of Dreambridge Films will also serve as executive producer and has invested in the film. Labarowski backed the drama What Maisie Knew, which gets its world premiere in Toronto on Friday night (7). Dreambridge also financed Prince Avalanche, a secret David Gordon Green (pictured) project that shot in Texas recently starring Emile Hirsch and Paul Rudd.
