RealD ties with Bulgaria’s largest exhibitor

New deal will begin with the installation of RealD 3D on 44 Kino Arena screens.

3D technology film RealD has signed an exclusive agreement with Bulgaria’s Kino Arena.

The move will see RealD 3D technology installed across 44 Kino Arena screens, including all seven screens of the flagship cinema that is set to open at Bulgaria Mall on Dec 21.

“This agreement adds to our growing install base across Europe as we continue to provide premium visual experiences for the cinema market,” said Karina Neill, director of Cinema RealD Europe.

Kino Arena currently operates 10 cinema locations, across six major cities, with a total of 77 screens including two standalone multiplexes with the country’s biggest cinema auditoriums.

RealD is the world’s most widely used 3D cinema technology with approximately 21,500 screens - by approximately 900 exhibitors - in 68 countries around the world.

The technology is compatible with High Frame Rate and was recently chosen as the 3D presentation provider for the world premiere of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first movie to be filmed and presented in a higher frame rate.
