Revolution Studios, now owned by Fortress Investment Group following the reported $250m sale by Joe Roth earlier this year, has purchased the 64 titles comprising the Morgan Creek International film library.

The catalogue includes Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves and the Ace Ventura (pictured) and Major League franchises, which are currently available for distribution in international territories.

The purchase brings to 114 the number of Revolution Studios library features alongside the 240-strong stable of television episodes.

The transaction concluded at an auction and marks the first major acquisition by Revolution under the new ownership.

“Morgan Creek International’s 64 titles are a perfect complement to the Revolution Studios library,” said Revolution CEO Vince Totino.

“Given the growth of international markets, this purchase will add significant value to the company for years to come. Revolution is actively seeking to acquire properties of similar quality as it continues to implement its new growth strategy.”
