The Colombian producer and Dynamo co-founding partner will run Alex Garcia’s Bogota-based Itaca Films Colombia.
The company will work in concert with Itaca’s Mexico City headquarters headed by Santiago Garcia, as well as Itaca Films USA in New Orleans and Itaca Films Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.
The development means Itaca Films now has active operations in four key production markets in the Americas offering separate co-production treaties or production service incentives.
The Colombian operation will focus on strategic local content partnerships and offer services for international film and TV productions that qualify for the 40% cash rebate on local spend.
Guerrero’s 20-plus creative and production credits in features include Fox International Productions’ The Hidden Face, Javier-Fuentes-Leon’s Sundance winner Undertow and Josh Marston’s Oscar nominee Maria Full Of Grace.
He recently wrapped postproduction on Que Viva La Música, a coproduction between Itaca Films and Dynamo directed by Carlos Moreno.
