Saban Films is gearing up for its first release of The Homesman and has hired Azniv Taschyan as vp of finance and Jonathan Saba as vp of marketing.

Saba will oversee all aspects of theatrical and ancillary marketing for the slate starting with the November 7 theatrical release of the Cannes selection directed by Tommy Lee Jones that marked Saban’s first acquisition.

He will also manage all third-party studio, producer and distribution relationships. Saba most recently helped to launch the distribution division of the Criterion Collection and previously served at Anchor Bay Films and Image Entertainment.

Taschyan will oversee all financial reporting and analysis functions and play a pivotal role in finance-related decision-making while working closely with internal and external partners.

She began her career at Ernst & Young in Los Angeles before moving to DreamWorks as divisional controller. She most recently held the position of director of accounting for Paramount.

Saban Films plans to release eight to 10 high-quality, features per year in North America and is in talks with a studio distribution partner. It is partnering with Roadside Attractions on The Homesman.
