Savage Cinema strand will be introduced at the 61st San Sebastian Festival in September.
San Sebastian Festival is collaborating with Red Bull Media House to launch a new adventure and action sports section.
Savage Cinema will be a non-competitive section with its own selection committee: Maialen Beloki, Phillip Manderla and Sancho Rodriguez.
The strand will feature at least five titles, comprising feature documentaries as well as short and experimental films alongside fictional works.
Some of the sports featured are expected to centre on rock-climbing, snow/mountain sports, surfing and skateboarding.
The Anoeta Velodrome and different cinemas throughout the city will host the screenings in the company of the protagonists and filmmakers.
