One off charity screening to commemorate Robin Williams will see all profits go to Mind.

Secret Cinema is to stage a one off charity screening of Dead Poets Society this Friday [Aug 15].

Held at the Troxy in East London, the screening is to commemorate Robin Williams and is held in partnership with mental health charity Mind, with all profits going to the charity.

The night will see an In Memoriam short film screened where audience members will be able to write their own condolences, live poetry, music and special guests.

Secret Cinema is looking for partners to join them in hosting simultaneous screenings nationwide and across Europe at 8pm UK / 9pm CET. For more information, contact the organisation via seizetheday@secretcinema.org.

Paul Farmer, Mind chief executive, said: “We are incredibly appreciative that Secret Cinema has decided to honour Robin Williams in this way. The funds raised from this event will help Mind to be there for the one in four people who have a mental health problem so they get the support they need and the respect they deserve.”

“I see culture as therapy and a tonic. Robin Williams inspired so much in so many of us, I believe cinema should give back to those leading lights who give so much,” added Fabien Riggall, founder and director of Secret Cinema.

Tickets, priced at £25, go on sale today [Aug 13] at 1pm. Audience members must be 15 years and above.
