Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) has wasted little time jumping on Good Universe’s recent AFM sales title from Ghost House Pictures and Fede Alvarez.

Alvarez will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with partner Rodo Sayagues. Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert will produce for Ghost House, while JR Young and Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake will serve as executive producers and Erin Westerman will oversee for the company.

A Man In The Dark follows three teenage robbers who target the home of a wealthy blind man who turns out to be a psychopath. Alvarez directed the Evil Dead remake.

WME Global brokered the deal on behalf of Alvarez, Drake and Michael Meyer for Ghost House with Jon Freedberg, Michael Helfand and Joe Matukewicz for SPWA.

“We’re thrilled to be in business again with the creative team behind Evil Dead, and to back Fede on his next picture,” said SPWA president Bersch.

“He and Rodo have crafted a screenplay that keeps you on the edge of your seat and we look forward to bringing the movie to audiences worldwide.”
