Sundance Institute executives have named Shari Frilot and Kamal Sinclair co-directors of New Frontier in a bid to deepen the organisation’s commitment to the programme.

New Frontier celebrates artists working at the intersection of film, art, media, live performance, music and technology.

Recent highlights include the first large-scale public exhibition of the Oculus Rift virtual reality technology and the world premiere of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s hitRECord.

Frilot and Sinclair will cultivate ties with artists and technologists, stay abreast of trends and lead strategic planning and growth.

Frilot will continue to curate New Frontier exhibition activities, while Sinclair will oversee the annual New Frontier Story Lab, Flash Labs and Artist Residencies.
