Directors UK have announced the appointment of Andrew Chowns as its new CEO.

He will be joining Directors UK on September 1, replacing Suzan Dormer as CEO, who has been with Directors UK since it was originally known as the Directors and Producers Rights Society (DPRS).

“The appointment of an industry heavyweight as CEO of Directors UK ensures that we will be able to lead the way in establishing innovative solutions to the challenges of the new media century,” said Charles Sturridge, Chair of Directors UK, announcing the appointment.

Chowns is currently in the process of finding a replacement head of Business Affairs at producers group Pact, where he has worked since 2002.

Chief executive for Pact, John McVay said: “Andrew will be greatly missed by all the staff at Pact, but we wish him all the best in his exciting new role.”
