HanWay handles international sales for the dance film world premeiring on Sunday in Berlin.

Artificial Eye has taken all UK rights to Wim Wenders’ Pina.

The 3D film about legendary choreographer Pina Bausch has its world premiere at the Berlinale on Sunday.

Artificial Eye did the deal with sales company HanWay in advance of the EFM.

Wenders shot the dance film with the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, featuring the work of the famed German choreographer,who died in the summer of 2009.

Philip Knatchbull, Chief Executive, Curzon Artificial Eye said: “We are delighted to be releasing Wim Wenders’ latest film, a passionate project dedicated to an amazing artistic talent. Conceived and shot for 3D, we are planning a unique campaign for a unique film supported by a 3D release in leading Curzon sites.”

The UK theatrical release is set for April 22, 2011.

Artificial Eye’s other forthcoming releases include Joanna Hogg’s Archipelago, Ken Loach’s Route Irish, Jerzy Skolimowski’s Essential Killing and Takeshi Miike’s 13 Assassins (the latter two also sold by HanWay). At the end of 2011 the distributor plans launches for four films by UK auteurs: Lynne Ramsay’s We Need To Talk About Kevin, Andrea Arnold’s Wuthering Heights, Pawel Pawlikowski’s The Woman In The Fifth and Terence Davies’ The Deep Blue Sea.
