In a corporate reshuffle, UK sales agent HanWay has promoted Fabien Westerhoff to lead its multi-media division. Mark Lane has also been promoted to Sales Manager and Kate Hide brought in as Business & Content Manager. “HanWay’s promotion of Fabien’s ambitious team reflects their performance as a highly specialized boutique sales division,” CEO Tim Haslam said. “The division’s modus operandi is to exploit new media, regenerate our
catalogue of over 300 films and  classic collections, and specifically target new films for technologically diverse means of distribution.”

As it embraces new media channels, Hanway will take a slate of 3D films to Cannes which includes motorbikesports feature-doc TT3D which will be offered for 3D Theatrical and 3D broadcast. Other recent specialty programming includes the event releases of Julien Temple’s rockumentary Oil City Confidential which premiered theatrically in UK and France alongside live rock events with its DVD release planned for Autumn. Pony Canyon will release the film theatrically in Japan following the Fuji Rock Festival this Summer.

The division recently theatrically platformed in the US, UK and France award-winning doc Mugabe And The White African.

HanWay is now offering its key film collections  from Recorded Picture Company (featuring 9 Academy Award Winner The Last Emperor), Wim Wenders, Merchant Ivory and the BFI in High Definition for Blu-Ray release and HD broadcast; and  recently signed with Tohokushinsha who will release the HD remastered RPC collection in Japan across its pay TV channel portfolio and on Blu-Ray.

Haslam said: “We are totally thankful to Charlotte Thorp, who shortly moves on to an exciting new appointment; she has done a fantastic job consolidating this expansive department and we wish her the greatest success.”
