Oscar-winning British producer Jeremy Thomas will give the keynote address at the fourth Film London Production Finance Market (Oct 20-21).

Thomas founded Recorded Picture Company and HanWay Films. His credits include The Last Emperor, Bad Timing, Sexy Beast, The Sheltering Sky, Fast Food Nation, Young Adam, Crash, 13 Assassins, and recent Venice award winner Essential Killing.

He is currently in post-production on David Cronenberg’s Freud-Jung drama A Dangerous Method starring Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender and Vincent Cassel.

The PFM, held in association with the BFI London Film Festival, will welcome more than 60 producers and 57 financiers. New territories represented at the PFM this year include Russia, Hungary and Switzerland.

Adrian Wootton, Chief Executive of Film London said: “Film London’s PFM offers a strategic solution to independent film financing and its growth in four years demonstrates the need and success of the event. This year the PFM has attracted producers and financiers from new territories and the list of delegates indicates how the PFM has continued to successfully build on its international focus - something we hope will result in future international co-productions and many positive cross-territory relationships. I am also especially pleased to welcome Jeremy Thomas, who has a wealth of experience to share, as the keynote speaker at this year’s event.”

Producer Robert Jones added: “I have attended all the PFM events thus far and have witnessed it develop into an important date in the film production and funding calendar. It brings together professionals, not just from the UK, but increasingly further afield. The forum is an invaluable opportunity to pitch and discuss projects with a range of distributors and financiers on a one-to-one basis. The keynote addresses are always entertaining and provocative and the calibre of the speakers is a testament to the standing of the PFM in the eyes of the global film community.”
