Creative England to host film charter signing at the BVE North event in Manchester this week.
Manchester council will this week sign the Production Liaison Charter, a UK-wide industry standard charter which will officially recognise Manchester as a ‘filming friendly’ county.
Creative England will host the charter signing at the BVE North (Broadcast Video Expo), taking place at Manchester Central (16-17 November).
Councils signing the document undertake to ensure a positive approach to filming; nominate dedicated employees as a first point of call to accelerate filming requests when needed; and attend quarterly Production Liaison Partnership meetings with Creative England to discuss filming issues.
Kaye Elliott, Creative England’s head of location & production services commented: “These agreements have seen great results in other parts country, including Yorkshire, the North East, and London which prove that they help to stimulate production and strengthen local infrastructure. We look forward to seeing the same good results here, and Creative England will be working hard in the future to forge similar agreements in other parts of the English regions.”
