EXCLUSIVE: Wolf leaves Goldcrest to pursue consultancy work for her London boutique The Film Consultancy Partners.
Industry stalwart Penny Wolf has left Goldcrest’s sales and distribution wing where she was Head of Film since September 2009.
Wolf will now pursue work for her London-based boutique The Film Consultancy Partners. She will attend this year’s European Film Market in Berlin.
A succession plan at Goldcrest has yet to be announced.
During Wolf’s tenure at Goldcrest, which hired her to energise its sales business, she oversaw acquisitions including The First Grader, The Girl, Dark Horse, Cheerful Weather for the Wedding and SXSW hit Natural Selection.
Upcoming titles on the Goldcrest sales slate include Penelope Spheeris’ US comedy High School Sweethearts and UK production A Thousand Kisses Deep starring Dougray Scott.
“I have always been very filmmaker friendly,” Wolf told Screen.“That was one of the challenges at Goldcrest - to introduce the company to filmmakers like Justin Chadwick, Todd Solondz and David Riker. The theatrical side of Goldcrest Film Sales is now up and running and that is great.”
Across a 25-year industry career, Wolf has worked at VCL, Vestron, IAC, Senator, Capitol Films, Granada, HBO and PeaceArch. She had set up The Film Consultancy Partners before joining Goldcrest.
The Goldcrest Group is a finance, production and distribution outfit originally set up in 1977.
