Riz Ahmed (pictured), Stephen Graham and Matt Greenhalgh will host screenings in the new season of the Jameson Cult Film Club, which returns this autumn.

Actor Riz Ahmed (Four Lions, Road To Guantanamo) will host the club’s first screening, Martin Scorses’s Taxi Driver, in a car park in London’s Soho on September 23.

The Liverpool event will be hosted by actor Stephen Graham (This is England, Snatch) and one of the Manchester events is to be hosted by screenwriter Matt Greenhalgh (Control, Nowhere Boy).

Ahmed said cult films, such as Taxi Driver, has inspired him to become an actor. He added: “These are films that find pride of place in our collections long after the box office summer smashes have faded from memory - and I hope by promoting them we encourage UK film makers to stay uncompromising and stay creative.”

Nine films will screen in the season, which runs between September 2010 and March 2011. Previous events in the series have included Trainspotting shown in a warehouse, Dracula in a chapel and This Is Spinal Tap in a disused music venue.
