Sheffield Doc/Fest is to run its second Crossover Summit at this year’s edition of the festival which runs from Nov 3-7.

The industry event, which is run in collaboration with Crossover Labs, will include sessions on the challenges of international co-production and the financing of crossmedia projects.

Other industry highlights at the festival will include Joan Rivers in conversation with Sheffield Doc/Fest Chair Steve Hewlett about her new film Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work which opens the festival on Nov 3.

Kevin Macdonald will also be discussing his experimental crowd sourced project Life In A Day.

Also on the agenda will be an interview with Robert Thirkell and a keynote speech from BBC’s Director of Archive Content Roly Keating. Film-maker Penny Woolcock will also be interviewed by Peter Dale for this year’s Grierson Trust Interview.

Meanwhile maverick Australian documaker George Gittoes and Indian documentary film-maker Anand Patwardhan will be giving masterclasses on their work.

Panelists at this year’s festival will include BBC Storyville’s Nick Fraser, writer, filmmaker, broadcaster and criminologist Roger Graef, Nick Broomfield, Britdoc’s Jess Search, Channel 4’s Adam Gee, ITN Productions’ Emma Read, BBC’s Nick Cohen, Channel 4’s Matt Locke Tribeca Film Institute’s Ryan Harrington, Buzzbank founder Michael Norton and director and creative director of Crossover Lab Mark Atkin and Frank Boyd.
