UK director Simon Glass is to make his feature debut with noir thriller The Existentialist: and The MysteriousMurder of God, which will be produced by Arid Pictures.

Set in the back streets of East End London the film promises to retrace God’s demise from Old Testament to New Testament, through cook books, feminism and fertility clinics.

Glass previously directed two short films, A Change of Mime and Yakov My Boy both financed by French company Elytel.

The Existentialist is scheduled for production in March 2011 and will be shot in UK cities London and Leeds. Victoria Wood will produce the film for Arid Pictures with Aidan Williams of PHD Productions, Henry Deas and John Tilley serving as executive producers.
