The Match Factory is handling sales on Joachim Trier’s Reprise follow-up.

Soda Pictures has acquired the UK rights for Un Certain Regard hit Oslo, August 31st.

The Match Factory is handling international sales on Joachim Trier’s film.

The story follows a man getting out of rehab who has to confront his past and his future.

Managing Director of Soda Pictures Edward Fletcher said: “It’s particularly satisfying to acquire one’s favourite film from Cannes. Trier’s second feature confirms his status as a major new talent and Soda Pictures are thrilled to be releasing this beautiful film to be discovered by audiences UK wide”.

Also during Cannes Market, Soda acquired Andres Veiel’s If Not Us, Who? from The Match Factory, Sundance doc The Black Power Mix Tape from WIDE, and Baran bo Odar’s crime thriller The Silence from Bavaria Film International.

These acquisitions boster the UK distributor’s slate, which increasingly adds pre-buys as well. Recent pre-buys include Confession Of A Child Of The Century starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and Pete Doherty, directed by Sylvie Verheyde; Dave McKean’s film of Michael Sheen’s Passion Play project; and French-Irish co-production The Wayfaring Strangers starring Cillian Murphy, Michael Gambon, Niels Arstrup and Sylvie Testud.
