The wait is (almost) over, as UK Culture Minister Ed Vaizey is set to announce his plans for government support of film on Monday morning (Nov 29).

At 10 am in London, Vaizey will “set out his plans for the future of the UK film policy,” the Department of Culture, Media and Sport has said.

The event’s guests will be able to ask Vaizey questions after his speech.

This speech comes after the Government’s decision in late July to abolish the UK Film Council without offering further guidance on how its functions would be replaced or relocated. The Government has repeatedly reassured the UK film industry that Lottery Support for film would continue, but industry experts are keen to hear plans about the exact who, what, where, when and how of those Funds will be distributed in future.
