UK outfit acquires Camera d’Or winner Las Acacias by Pablo Giorgelli.
Verve Pictures has taken UK distribution rights to Pablo Giorgelli’s Camera d’Or winner Las Acacias, from Urban Distribution.
The road movie had its world premiere in Critics’ Week and also went on to pick up the the Soutien ACID/CCAS and the Prix OFAJ de la (Toute) Jeune Critique awards.
Verve will be releasing in the autumn this year.
The Argentine-Spanish production stars Germane de Silva and Hebe Duarte, in the story of a long distance lorry driver who agrees to transport a woman and her 5-month-old child from Paraguay to Buenos Aires.
Verve’s Colin Burch commented: “We are thrilled to be adding Las Acacias to our forthcoming release slate and believe that it enchant audiences here in the UK in the same way that it did in Cannes”.
