Following media reports of trouble on the set of the third Bridget Jones film, producers have clarified that “the film is going ahead as planned.”

“Reports that Hugh Grant has exited Bridget Jones’s Baby are untrue,” Tim Bevan, co chairman of Working Title Films, said in a statement this morning. “We are still working on the script hence the delay to the start of production, but the film is going ahead as planned.”

Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Grant all reprise their roles from the previous two films.

The film is set to start shooting soon in the UK for director Peter Cattaneo.
