The largest Everyman cinema in the UK – and the first in the north of England – is to open in Leeds with five days of special screenings, including a Q&A with the producer of Searching for Sugar Man.

The theatre will be situated in new shopping arcade Trinity Leeds and will officially launch on April 26.

It will host a preview screening week from April 20 with a live music and visual DJ set by Addictive TV, followed by a screening of LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits.

A limited number of Everyman golden tickets were hidden around the city last month and winners will be privy to an exclusive mystery film screening on April 23.

In addition, Oscar-winning producer Simon Chinn will attend a live Q&A following a screening of his documentary, Searching for Sugar Man.

The new cinema will feature velvet sofas and will also feature a bar and separate 100-seat restaurant, a first for the Everyman group.
