The board of governors of the American Society of Cinematographers on Tuesday elected Kees Van Oostrum to lead the organisation.

This will mark Oostrum’s first term and the period will run for one year, effective immediately.

The ASC board also selected its officers, who include: Bill Bennett, Dean Cundey and Lowell Peterson as vice-presidents; Levi Isaacs as treasurer; Fred Goodich as secretary; and Roberto Schaefer as sergeant-at-arms.

  • Hulu has acquired exclusive streaming rights to all episodes of A+E Networks’ Roots, which runs on HISTORY and just attracted more than 14.4m linear viewers across all telecasts in its premiere week that launched over Memorial Day Weekend. The entire four-part series will be available to stream in the autumn and is part of an expanded deal with A+E Networks that includes streaming rights to full seasons of the network’s programing including HISTORY’s Barbarians Rising and Lifetime’s War And Peace.
  • Adopt Films has acquired theatrical rights to Detroit-based comedy The Pickle Recipe that premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February. Adopt has set a platform release for late October.
