The CEO has departed the ambitious New York-based financier-producer with immediate effect.

COO Molly Conners has taken over day-to-day control of the company until further plans are put into place.

Sources confirmed the development, which comes hot on the heels of Worldview Entertainment’s five-year deal with The Weinstein Company to jointly finance and distribute the slate.

Worldview’s roster includes Michel Hazanavicius’ Cannes competition entry The Search and the upcoming Birdman and The Revenant, both from Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu.
