Swedish distributor picks up Scandinavian rights to Marina Zenovich’s documentary.

Sweden’s NonStop Entertainment has picked up Scandinavian rights for US director Marina Zenovich’s documentary, Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired.

Polanski was due at the Berlinale for the screening of his Golden Bar contender, The Ghost Writer – his first film since the 2007 short segment for To His Own Cinema – but he remains under house arrest in Switzerland, where he is fighting extradition the US for charges relating to sex with a minor.

The documentary explores the public scandal and private tragedy which led to his sudden flight from the US in 1978. Produced by HBO and BBC, and distributed worldwide by The Weinstein Company, it contains archive footage of the media frenzy and from Polanski’s life, clips from his films and interviews including with Samantha Geimer, who aged 13 was the subject of the scandal.
