Norwegian director Harald Zwart has been signed to direct Universal's Wolff And Byrd, also known as Supernatural Law, based on Batton Lash's comic-book about two lawyers who specialise in macabre cases.

Zwart recently finished his US directing debut One Night At McCools, starring Liv Tyler, Matt Dillon and Michael Douglas, for USA Films. He came to international attention with Swedish production Hamilton starring Peter Stormare, Mark Hamill and Lena Olin. The film, produced by Sweden's Moviola and TV4 and Norway's Yellow Cottage, was distributed by Buena Vista in the US and Scandinavia.

Wolff And Byrd is scheduled to start shooting in January with Marc Platt Productions and Stampede Entertainment producing. The comic-book adaptation is written by Stephen Mazur, who co-wrote Liar, Liar, and S.S. Wilson, co-writer on Wild Wild West. Marti Noxon wrote the most recent draft.
