Odeon becomes largest cinema chain in Europe to go fully digital
Exhibitor Odeon has completed its £40 million digital transition. All 113 Odeon cinemas in the UK and Ireland have installed an Odeon Digital 8000 HD system in 890 screens.
The project, which started in December 2009, finished at the Odeon Sheffield this month. The switchover marks the largest digital transition of a European cinema chain.
Films backed by BBC Film, BFI and Element Pictures make the cut, while Andrea Arnold’s ‘Bird’ lands in Competition.
Vue CEO Tim Richards said the company is going to “start bringing in Polish films, German films, Dutch films and Danish films”.
The allegations surround unlawful information gathering.
The streaming giant on Monday reported that global members increased by 3.6m in the third quarter, sending shares up after hours by 20% from $19.75 to $119.67.
