Daniel Burman, whose film El Abrazo Partido (The Lost Embrace) is currently Argentina'scandidate for the foreign languageOscar, is now preparing a comedy entitled FamilyRights.

Set in the world of lawyers, the Euros 3m comedy will focuson the relationship between a father and son. The film will once again teamtogether El Abrazo Partido'sprotagonist Daniel Hendler, who won the Best Actor prize in Berlin, and AdrianaAizemberg.

Family Rights,which is due to start shooting next spring in Buenos Aires, is produced throughBurman's own company, BD Cine, together with Italy's Classic Film and Spain'sWanda Film.

Meanwhile, Burman's long-time Italian producer, Classic'sAmedeo Pagani, is also lining up a new film from Italian-Argentinian directorMarco Bechis (Garage Olimpo).

Entitled Bird Watchers,the film is set to shoot next spring in Italy and in the Amazon. Pagani saidthe picture - Bechis's first since 2001's Figli-Hijos- will focus on the search for identity and the relationship between bothcultures.

Rai Cinema is expected to back the film, which will have abudget of Euros 4m-5m.

Pagani, who is also the Italian co-producer behind WongKar-Wai's 2046 and TheoAngelopoulos's trilogy The Weeping Meadow,is also lining up a picture from Italian film collective Fluid Video Crew (Italian Sud Est).

The Euros 3m film, entitled L'Angelo della Dimenticanza, will trace the birth of the Mafia inthe Salento region of southern Italy. It is due to start shooting at thebeginning of 2005.
