Oscilloscope Laboratories has taken worldwide rights to Jay Delaney's documentary Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie and will release it today [October 17] at the Pioneer Theater in New York and on DVD in winter 2009.
The film is styled as a buddy movie about Bigfoot researchers Wayne Burton and Dallas Gilbert and their quest to prove the mythical creature's existence in small-town Appalachian Ohio.
'Before seeing the film I had no idea Bigfoot could levitate,' O-Scope president Adam Yauch said.
'We set out to make a personal film about two people in our hometown several years back, and it's so rewarding to know Dallas and Wayne's story has really connected with people,' Delaney, who directed, produced and edited, said.
'The excitement and enthusiasm [oscilloscope] have shown for the film - and their personal touch - really won us over.'
