UIP has chosen to screen Billy Elliot for the hundreds of exhibitors who have booked to go to the annual Australian International Movie Convention, scheduled for August 8-12 in Queensland. Columbia TriStar will be showing off Hollow Man and 20th Century Fox has chosen What Lies Beneath.

The two films that the independent distributors are screening at the event are REP's Saving Grace and Sharmill's Innocence. Buena Vista has not yet made its choice public.

Queensland Premier Peter Beattie will officially open the event and the guest of honour is cinematographer Don McAlpine, who most recently worked with Baz Luhrmann on Moulin Rouge.

Buena Vista International president Mark Zoradi, newly appointed co-chair of 20th Century Fox Film Group Jim Gianopulos and UIP chair Paul Oneile will all be on hand to see who wins the Australian Star Of The Year and Comedy Star Of The Year Awards and the Box Office Achievement Awards.
