Gianni Nunnari's Warner Bros-based Hollywood Gang Productions and Management 360 have hired Elite Squad director Jose Padilha to direct an untitled action thriller.

The story revolves around a US Federal agent who goes undercover in South America's dangerous tri-border area to dismantle a terrorist funding network.

360 and Hollywood Gang plan to cast the film with a major US star and Latin star. Jason Keller, who most recently wrote Sleeper Code for Warner Bros and is writing The Tomb for Summit, wrote the screenplay.

Nunnari will produce alongside Management 360's Guymon Casady and Darin Friedman. Craig J Flores will serve as executive producers and Greg Silverman and Elisha Holmes are overseeing for Warner Bros.

'Jose is an exceptionally talented film-maker that I've been watching for a while and to put him together with our partners at Warner Bros and 360 is a victory in itself,' Nunnari said.

Hollywood Gang is currently in production on Everybody's Fine for Miramax starring Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Sam Rockwell and Kate Beckinsale and Scorsese's Shutter Island with Leonardo Di Caprio, Michelle Williams and Mark Ruffalo.

Keller is represented by Scott Greenberg at CAA, Guymon Casady at Management 360 and attorney Carlos Goodman.

Padilha is handled by David Kopple at The Gersh Agency and attorney Sue Bodine at Cowan Debaets Abrahams & Sheppard.
