Palm Pictures haspicked up North American and Caribbean rights to Peter Rosen's Who Gets ToCall It Art' and plans an early 2006release through its fledgling Arthouse Films DVD label.

Head of acquisitions and production David Koh negotiated the deal for Palm andArthouse Films with David G Lubell of Propp Lubell & Lapidus on behalf ofRosen.

Who Gets To Call It Art' chroniclesthe 1960s New York art scene as seen through the eyes of Metropolitan Museum ofArt modern art curator Henry Geldzahler.

The picture includes previously unseen footage of such luminaries as AndyWarhol, Jasper Johns and Roy Lichenstein and includes interviews with FrankStella, David Hockney and James Rosenquist.

"We are excited to work with Peter Rosen on his remarkable documentary aboutsuch a monumental figure and decade in the history of American Art," Koh said.

"Henry Geldzahler was truly an innovative curator and we are honoured to bereleasing a film that documents the important contributions he made thatredefined American art for over four decades."

Palm's upcoming releases include Olivier Assayas' Clean starring Maggie Cheung and Nick Nolte, and AsiaArgento's The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, and Sergio Machado Lower City, which stars Alice Braga.
