Participant Media is teaming with Tapestry Films for the comedy Minimum Wage, the story of a crooked corporate executive convicted of fraud and sentenced to spend a year living on minimum wage in the town his company bankrupted.

Tegan West and Scott Atkinson will write the screenplay for the project which will be produced by Tapestry partners Peter Abrams, Robert Levy and Andrew Panay.

Jodi Zuckerman will oversee the project for Participant, which acquired the project as a pre-emptive pitch; Michael Schreiber will oversee the project for Tapestry and serve as executive producer.

'This is a mainstream comedy with the same hilarious humor and heart that Wedding Crashers had, but it also highlights how corporate greed is hurting us as a society,' said Jonathan King, executive vice president of production for Participant, in a statement.

Participant's 2008 releases include Brett Morgen's Chicago Ten, Tom McCarthy's The Visitor, Errol Morris' Standard Operating Procedure and Jennifer Grausman and Mark Becker's Pressure Cooker.

Tapestry's credits include Wedding Crashers, the upcoming Old Dogs for Disney, Serendipity, National Lampoon's Van Wilder, Pay It Forward, The Wedding Planner and She's All That.
