Six-time Oscar nominee and three-time BAFTA winner Paul Massey will handle theatrical re-recording as the new vp sound director for Sony Pictures Post Production Facilities.

Massey is working on upcoming releases The Amazing Spider-Man for Columbia, The Lone Ranger for Walt Disney and 47 Ronin for Universal.

“We are thrilled to welcome Paul back in this expanded role to Sony Pictures, his home of many years,” evp of Post Production Facilities Richard Branca, to whom Massey will report, said. “His tremendous artistry and technical expertise are true assets to the studio’s post production business.”

Massey received Oscar nominations for Walk The Line, 3:10 To Yuma and Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

He previously worked at Sony Pictures from 1996-2000 as a recording engineer.
