US writer-director Paul Schrader (American Gigolo, Mishima) will head up the seven-person International Jury deciding on the Golden Bear and Silver Bears at next month's Berlinale (Feb 8-18).

The other members of the jury are:

Palestinian actress-writer-director Hiam Abbass, whose recent acting credits include The Syrian Bride, Paradise Now and Munich

veteran German actor Mario Adorf who has appeared in more than 120 film and TV productions, including The Tin Drum and Rossini

Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal whose filmography includes The Motorcycle Diaries, Bad Education and Babel

US actor Willem Dafoe who has worked on blockbusters as well as arthouse productions by Cronenberg, von Trier and Scorsese

Hong Kong independent producer Nansun Shi, whose credits include Infernal Affairs and Seven Swords

and

Danish film editor Molly Malene Stensgaard who has worked on most of Lars von Trier's films - from The Kingdom series to Manderlay.

Commenting on the responsibility resting on the members of the International Jury, festival director Dieter Kosslick said: 'I wouldn't like to be in their shoes. But if anyone can master this task, then these seven.'
