The films are Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels Of A Tribe Called Quest, Bill Cunningham New York, Project Nim (pictured), Senna and The Union.

The winner will be announced at the 23rd annual Producers Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Jan 21, 2012.

All other nominations for the 2012 PGA categories will be announced on Jan 3 along with the individual producers.

As previously announced, the PGA will award special honours to Steven Spielberg, Leslie Moonves, Don Mischer and Stan Lee, among others.
