The Fry Chronicles Live will be broadcast from the Royal Festival Hall.

Picturehouse cinemas will screen a live transmission of the preview of Stephen Fry’s new autobiography from the Royal Festival Hall.

The Fry Chronicles Live!, a sneak preview into the content of the actor/writer/director’s memoir, will be broadcast live by satellite in high definition on September 13.

Lyn Goleby, Managing Director of City Screen/Picturehouse Cinemas said:“City Screen/Picturehouse Cinemas is very proud of having played the leading role in the development of exciting alternative cultural content in cinemas. This live transmission adds one further area of the arts – literature – to the theatre, opera, dance, music and comedy which we are now offering to cinema audiences up and down the country”

Producer of the event David Johnson added:“It’s brilliant that HD satellite technology and this network of innovative cinemas allow so many Fry fans from all over the country a chance to join Stephen at his Royal Festival Hall event. We hope to be able to confirm soon that audiences will have the chance to get directly involved on the night via ‘Twitter’ – just as soon as Stephen shows us how to do it”

Stephen Fry has carved out a diverse career, involving comedy, acting, directing and writing. In 1997 he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in the drama Wilde and was most recently heard as the voice of the Cheshire Cat in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

The Fry Chronicles will be published on 13th September by Penguin.
