Pirates Of The Caribbean dominated the theatrical category at the Visual Effects Society's (VES) fifth annual gala in Los Angeles.
The film won Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects Driven Motion Picture, Best Single Visual Effect of the Year, and Outstanding Animated Character in a Live Action Motion Picture for the character of Davy Jones.
The Disney release's effects team also won Outstanding Created Environment in a Live Action Motion Picture, and Outstanding Models and Miniatures in a Motion Picture.
Cars took home the Outstanding Animated Character in an Animated Motion Picture for the character of Mater, while Casino Royale won Outstanding Special Effects in a Motion Picture, and Flags Of Our Fathers won the award for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Motion Picture.
'There was some amazing snap, crackle-and-pop effects work on display last night,' VES executive director said Eric Roth said.
'This past year - with technological and artistic advances aplenty - the 'did you see that'' bar was set higher than ever and this year's crop of visual effects winners cleared it with room to spare.'
