NFTS director Nik Powell and Spanish director Ventura Pons are among the five-person jury appointed for the next European Pitch Point (EPP) to be held during the Berlinale on 6 February, 2004.

The other members of the jury are Berlin-based producer Judy Tossell of Egoli Tossell Film (Russian Ark), Swiss producer-director Samir (Forget Baghdad: Jews And Arabs - The Iraqi Connection) and Dutch producer Hetty Naaykeens-Retel Helmrich of Scarabee Films.

They will pick the 10 most promising authors and their projects out of 100 submitted from all over Europe, looking for original and innovative projects with a universal appeal and geared towards an international audience. The selected projects will then be presented in a professional pitch to producers, distributors and TV commissioning editors at the February event.

An innovation for the fifth edition, which is being organised by the German script development agency Script House with the European Film Academy, the Swiss training body FOCAL, and the Amsterdam-based Maurits Binger Film Institute with support from MEDIA and Filmboard Berlin-Brandenburg, will see EPP collaborating for the first time with the pan-European producer associations European Producers Club, ACE and EMPA.
