New projects from Julien Temple (pictured) and Paul Andrew Williams are among those being presented at the inaugural European networking event in the French Alps, Co-Production Village Arc 1950.

The three-day co-production market (December 6- 8). will run as part of the first Les Arcs European Film Festival in Les Arcs, France (December 5  -12).

Temple’s Fake is being produced by the UK’s F&ME, while Williams, whose credits include the well-received low-budget 2007 film London To Brighton  is directing Wisdom’s Last Legs, produced by Steel Mill Pictures.  

Further projects being presented include Peter Hewitt’s The Giraffe, produced by the UK’s CrossDay Productions, Yesterday, the feature debut of Hungarian short film director Bálint Kenyeres, produced by France’s Bizibi, and Barnaby Southcombe’s I, Anna, produced by UK- based Embargo Films, to which Charlotte Rampling is attached to star. 

Co-Production Village Arc 1950 is being run by a wealth of European organisations including EAVE, ACE, Cine Regio, French distribution outfit DIRE and Europa Distribution.  France’s Sofica La Banque Postale Image will award $45,000  (Euros 30,000) in development finance to the French co-producer of one of the projects.

At the festival, 10 European films will compete for the Crystal Arrow award, including Daniel Monzon’s Cell 211, Damjan Kozole’s Slovenka and Luca Guadagnino’s Io Sono L’Amore. The line-up has been chosen by Frederic Boyer, the new artistic director of Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight. There will also be a country focus on Hungary.
