UK sales company Protagonist Pictures will be handling international sales on Shane Meadows’ improvised comedy Le Donk And Scor-Zay-Zee.

The film was well received by audience members and critics at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and it screened again in the Best of the Festival programme on the final day.

Filmed as a spoof documentary, Le Donk was shot over five days by Shane Meadows (Dead Man’s Shoes,This is England, Somers Town). It was devised with and stars Paddy Considine, and represents the first of what Meadows and producer Mark Herbert (Warp Films) intend to be new five-day feature programme.

The film follows rock roadie and failed musician, Le Donk (Considine) and his sidekick Nottingham rap prodigy Scor-zay-zee (playing himself).  The low-budget rockumentary follows Le Donk and Scorz on their journey to make Scorz a star.

Le Donk will open in the UK in autumn 2009.
