Delhi based Priya Village Roadshow (PVR) will next year launch first multiplex outside Delhi when it opens the doors of an 11 screen complex in suburban Mumbai (Bombay).

The company is planning to expand from 12 screens to over 80 screens by 2005 and invest up to $30m. PVR director, Ajjay Bijili told Screen International, "The Mumbai project will cost around $500,000 per screen". Besides Delhi and Mumbai the company has plans to develop multiplexes in Bangalore, Pune, Jaipur and Chandigarh. It is also opening a seven screen Multiplex in Gurgaon in suburban Delhi in October 2002.

The company is also going to retain the PVR brand name despite Village Roadshow selling their stake to Priya Exhibitors.
