Red Envelope Entertainment and New Line Home Entertainment have
jointly acquired North American rights to the childbirth documentary
The Business Of Being Born.

Ricki Lake produced the film, in which director Abby Epstein captures
footages of women giving birth and speaks to mothers, obstetricians
and experts about whether childbirth is a natural process or a medical
emergency.

Red Envelope plans a limited theatrical release in October followed by
a roll-out on Netflix. New Line Home Entertainment plans a traditional
DVD launch in the first quarter of 2008.

'After the traditional birth of my first child, I questioned whether
there was a better way,' Lake said. 'This film showcases the journey
of empowerment that I and many other women are exploring.'

Red Envelope's Bahman Naraghi and Kevin Kasha and Guy Stodel of New Line negotiated the deal with Josh Braun of Submarine on behalf of the film-makers.

Legal affairs were handled by Red Envelope's head of business and
legal affairs Thomas Zadra and Victoria Cook of Manhattan law firm
FKKS for the film-makers.
