Event celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2012

The Paris Cinema Festival is to pay tribute to Olivier Assayas and the late Raoul Ruiz at this year’s edition, which will run June 29-July 10 in the French capital.

The festival will screen Ruiz’s last film, La Nuit d’en face, while Assayas will be the subject of a complete retrospective. He will also deliver a masterclass.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012, this year’s edition will also pay tribute to Hong Hong Kong cinema. More than 80 films will be selected.

Johnnie To will attend to introduce a selection of his films, as well as shorts directed by young film-makers as part of the Fresh Wave Festival that he supports.

The event will unveil its international competition line-up on June 7.
