John Ridley, whose writing credits include Undercover Brother and U-Turn, is to direct the thriller Let MeTake You Down for LionsGate Films, the company announced

Based on an original screenplay by Ridley, the projectcentres on a Hollywood coroner's office worker who attempts to reopen thelegendary 1947 Black Dahlia murder case.

Ridley will produce Let Me Take You Down through his newly formed InternationalFamous Players Radio Picture Corporation (Radio Pictures), along with MichaelJenkinson of Urban Entertainment.

Radio Pictures' Marit Weisenberg will co-produce and LionsGate's executive vice president Marc Butan will oversee production for thestudio.

"Let Me Take You Down is a powerful, unsettling script by one of contemporary cinema'smost prolific writers, tapping into some of the most frightening and intriguingaspects of contemporary murder suspense," Butan said in a statement.

Ridley received a Writers Guild of America best originalscreenplay nomination in 2000 for Three Kings, which he co-wrote with director David ORussell.
