Rotterdam will present 11 features and four shorts from Finnish filmmaker.
The International Film Festival Rotterdam 2012 will pay tribute to Finnish filmmaker and festival director Peter von Bagh.
Von Bagh directed more than 50 titles but is also well-known as artistic director of the Midnight Sun Festival in Sodankyla, which he co-founded in 1986 with the Kaurismäki brothers as well as Cinema Ritrovato in Bologna, which has run since 2001.
Von Bagh has written more than twenty books, is editor in chief of the Filmihullu magazine and is professor of film history in the Helsinki University of Arts.
The tribute program, with von Bagh in attendance, will be part of IFFR’s main Signals section.
