Volcano Entertainment andVita Pictures have started principal photography on psychological drama TheLiving in the Home of the Dead in Wiltshire, southern England.

Simon Rumley, whopreviously directed Club Le Monde, The Truth Game, and StrongLanguage, is writing and directing with Nick O'Hagan producing. O'Haganpreviously co-produced Young Adam and was an associate producer on TerryGilliam's forthcoming Tideland. Elliot Grove, founder of Raindance, isexecutive producing with Uday Tiwari.

Rumley told ScreenDaily.comthat the film is "set in a countryside English stately home when a mentallywayward young man is left alone in the house with his mother and tragedyensues." Leo Bill, who recently appeared in Vera Drake and 28 DaysLater, plays the troubled son, James. The cast also includes Roger LloydPack, Kate Fahy, and Sarah Ball.

"It's very much apsychological drama, but it also has Greek elements and a bit of horror,"Rumley said.

The shoot started Mondayand will continue for six weeks at Tottenham House, a stately home that waspreviously used as a prep school. O'Hagan didn't specify the film's budget butdid say that it was a "low-budget" production. Funding came from privatesources.

London-based Giant Films ishandling international sales. The filmmakers said a UK theatrical release dealwas "imminent." The filmmakers are hoping to finish the film in time to submitit for the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.
