Ian Puente has joined Samuel Goldwyn Films as vp of business development and general counsel, effective immediately.

Puente will work closely with Samuel Goldwyn Films president Meyer Gottlieb and vp of acquisitions Peter Goldwyn.

Prior to the appointment he held similar positions at Sony Pictures Classics and First Look Studios.

“We are elated to have Ian as such a valuable member of the team,” Gottleib said. “His experience and forward thinking abilities make him the ideal candidate for this new position.”
